What does “successor” mean?
It is the number that comes right after a given number on the number line.
Rule:
To find the successor, add \(1\) to the number.
If the integer is \(n\), then:
\(n\) + \(1\)
= \(n + 1\)
Examples:
So, the successor of any integer \(n\) is \(n + 1\).
