Idea: Subtracting zero does not change a number.

1. Let the whole number be \(a\).

2. We subtract zero: \(a - 0\).

3. Zero means “nothing is taken away”. So the value stays the same.

4. Therefore, \(a - 0 = a\).

Quick examples:

• \(7 - 0 = 7\)
• \(15 - 0 = 15\)
• \(0 - 0 = 0\)

Conclusion: When 0 is subtracted from any whole number, the result is the same number.
