Idea: Two ratios (a:b) and (c:d) are equal if (dfrac{a}{b} = dfrac{c}{d}).

1. Write (20:35) as a fraction: (dfrac{20}{35}).
2. Simplify the fraction:
   (20 div 5 = 4)
   (35 div 5 = 7)
3. So, (dfrac{20}{35} = dfrac{4}{7}).
4. Therefore, (4:7 = 20:35).

Quick check (another way):
Multiply both terms of (4:7) by (5):
(4 imes 5 = 20), (7 imes 5 = 35).
So it becomes (20:35), which matches.
